Hi, I’m Kay. Let me share a little more about my music journey.

I started learning classical piano when I was 5. I’ve always been interested in pop singing since I was in primary school, but never got the chance to pursue it until after I turned 18. After Polytechnic, I decided to pursue a Bachelor in Music Performance and make music my full time career.

Since 2011 I have been doing live performances for weddings and gigs as a vocalist, and transitioned into becoming a voice and keyboard instructor since 2014.

My strength is in teaching English and Chinese Pop Music, and I can also teach any other genre of songs, Japanese Pop, Korean Pop, and also church praise and worship playing, as I used to serve in church as well.

I am able to teach total beginners with zero music knowledge, no matter what age or even people who claim they have no musical “talent”. I can also teach vocal harmonies and how to play by ear, without having to read scoresheets.

I customized by lessons to make it fun for my students, and I tailored to what the student wants to achieve. I don’t want learning to be restricted to boring syllabuses. It should be enjoyable!

I strongly believe that as long as there is interest and an open mind, age or “talent” is not a factor in learning anything.

I have had many people tell me that seniors or people who have no talent cannot learn music, and I really want to show people that this is absolutely not true. As long as the goals are realistic, learning music will be a fun and relaxing thing.

Many people think that music is difficult or expensive, or they don’t have the opportunity to learn it in depth.

I want to share what I have picked up from all my experiences as well as knowledge I gained from my studies with others who are passionate about music but didn’t think they could do it, to show them that it is actually not difficult at all.
